Biography

My name is Ulf Kintzel. I come from East Germany. There I did an apprenticeship to become a professional government registered shepherd. After the wall came down I moved to West Germany. There I managed several sheep-breeding farms with approximately 800- 1000 sheep. I herded large flocks for 11 years. I then went to college and studied agriculture. I graduated with an agricultural engineering degree.

Since 1987 I have competed in many regional and national herding competitions and scored ratings of "Excellent" (scores between 90 and 100 points) in nearly 90 percent of the competitions I entered. I finished in the top 10 at the S.V.'s national HGH herding competition, including a 4th place finish, and earned the additional honor of being selected best dog handler in national competition.

Bundesleistungshueten 1992, fourth place with 95 points, 2 points behind the winner Manfred Voigt.
Second Place was shared by Karl Fueller and George Krieg with 96 points

From September 1995 through October 2006 I was in Sussex County, New Jersey with my German Shepherd Dogs. I manage White Clover Sheep Farm, and teach this unique sheep herding style called tending.

Since my arrival we held 12 HGH herding competitions. Many dozens of dogs got titled with the HGH title. In 2000, we founded the First HGH Herding Club, a member club of USCA (United Schutzhund Clubs Of America). We not only hosted herding trials, we also started to put on breed surveys and conformation shows.
