Training

The training is designed for the committed handler who wishes to title her or his dog with an HGH Herding Title. There are two openings for new students available.

All lessons are individual instructions only. The cost is $50 per lesson. Preferable breeds are the so-called tending breeds such as German Shepherd Dogs, Belgian Sheepdogs (all varieties), Briards, and Beaucerons. Border Collies and breeds working in a similar style are not suitable.

The lessons are given at my farm. Although a real training facility doesn't exist because of the risk of a routine training, all elements needed are included in the training.

Instinct Tests

The instinct tests are offered for tending breeds only. They are intended for people who wish to train a dog at White Clover Sheep Farm. No previous training is required. The fee is $50. During such a test I find out if the dog is interested in sheep and if one could attempt herding training. Please only inquire testing your dog if you wish to train and title your dog.
